Bardessono Hotel Vertical Tillandsia Garden
I could not be any more in love with our recent installation for the Bardessono Hotel in Yountville. This project had some tough requirements. We had about a month to design and install the project. The clients wanted a vertical garden, but there was not any drainage at the site. But the client is fantastic — and we were thrilled to be involved with this LEED Platinum-certified hotel.
The design Seth came up with for mounting the plants makes it easy to change out the plants if they are ailing. The original prototype was much more dense, but we all agreed we liked the garden better with a little space around the plants.
I think they look like fireworks — or a mass of sea creatures – or an invasion of aliens.

This has to be one of the most minimalist gardens I’ve ever seen which uses actual living plants. It is inspiring to see how you overcame the limitations and gave a stellar performance!

Just found you through Sunset magazine. I’m in love with this vertical garden.
Off to research air plants, desert & deer to see if there’s a possibility of using this application in my desert, deer ridden garden.
