Inspiration From Collecting Flowers

Need some inspiration for your spring garden? Here's a beauty from our designer friends Dani Coulter and Johnny Keegan of Collecting Flowers, whose soft, lovely textured gardens are some of our favorites in SF.

Dani and Johnny designed this garden as a welcoming space for outdoor family life, with plenty of relaxing nooks and corners, richly textured plants, and soft grasses. Johnny even built an adorable kid-sized A-frame with a climbing wall on the outside!

Soft-leafed agaves and aloes and delicate pittosporum, among other choices, complement the Lomandra, blue fescue, and other meadow grasses.

The garden is highly drought-tolerant, with mostly southern hemisphere and California native plants.

Framing a beautiful chevron-pattern deck, two pots of leucospermums (pincushion protea) add pops of beautiful spring and early summer color.

Many of the plants Dani and Johnny used in this garden were grown by us and are in stock at both Flora Grubb stores, including the ethereal and lovely Grevillea 'Moonlight,' pictured below as a screen against a fence and wall.

Thanks, Dani and Johnny, for sharing this beautiful space with us! See more inspiring gardens on their Collecting Flowers website.

All of these garden photos are by the fabulous Caitlin Atkinson.
