Flora Grubb Gardens has an exciting position open! We are hiring an assistant manager. We’d really love to find someone with several years experience managing a retail nursery, but we’re willing to look at experienced managers from related fields.We are only considering candidates with two or more years of management experience.
This is not a desk job. The assistant manager here coordinates just about everything that happens on the retail floor. You’ll oversee 15 staff members and the coming and going of all of our merchandise. You’ll be on your feet, responding to the surprises that retails brings and re-prioritizing all day, every day. You will be responsible for the health of all of the plants so you should have plant knowledge.
You’ll also be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our beloved customers, and supporting the rest of the staff in doing the same.You’ll need to love dealing with the public, and relish the opportunity to resolve problems in a way that leaves everyone feeling good.
To fit in here, you’ll need to be driven by a love of gardens and design. You’ll be a part of what just might be the most beautiful garden store in the country. Our aesthetic standards are high, and you will be responsible for maintaining our standards. Our staff includes a lot of very experienced, very creative people, and you will be their leader. So you’ll need to be a natural collaborator with an ability to inspire.
