Hello Friends -

It is shaping up to be a glorious fall. The combination of rain and warm sunny weather is perfect for gardening. We hope that you are finding time to get your hands dirty.

Thanksgiving Open House

We will be hosting our annual Open House on Thanksgiving weekend. We know that many of you will have loved ones in town for the holiday, and we know that you love to bring your family here!

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we will be here and we would love for you to join us for pie, hot drinks, and good company.

And if the promise of home made pie is not enough, we have a special guest star to entertain. Greyson Danger Grubb Smith can't wait to meet you. Baby Grey will be hanging around on Saturday from 11am until he demands to be taken home.

Flora and Baby Grey.

SALE!
To further tempt you, we will have discounts of 20% - 30% on selected furniture, gifts, and lots of plants - including Japanese maples and palm rarities! We brought in a beautiful collection of bromeliads for the holiday season- they will be 10% off November 28- 30.

We have gorgeous bromeliads that will thrive indoors near a window
or in your garden in a protected spot.

Our vertical succulent garden unveiled - Friday Nov 28
A garden that hangs on the wall- framed like a work of art - what a spectacular idea for a city full of small gardens! Our brand new vertical garden will be unveiled at our open house on Friday Nov 28.

This is a close up view of the surface of our new vertical succulent garden, planted with a variety of Sempervivum.

Open late Thursdays in December
To help with your holiday shopping, we will be open until 8pm every Thursday in December until December 25. Otherwise, our winter hours remain unchanged: Monday through Saturday, 8am - 6pm; Sunday 10am - 6pm. We will close from December 25 through January 1, and reopen on January 2.

Guerrero Street median garden planting days
We met some of you for the first time at our old location, on Guerrero Street. We are still involved with the greening project on Guerrero Street that began in 2005. Neighbors from the area have fundraised and volunteered to install these median-strip gardens. We have designed the garden, helped organize the planting days, and provided the plants at a substantial discount to make the project work.

The next Guerrero Greening planting is underway. If you would like to help replace the concrete medians with a beautiful garden, please join us on one of these planting days. For more information: www.sanjoseguerrero.com

This is the brand-new garden on Guerrero between 26th and 27th Streets.
The trees are Acacia stenophylla.

Bring work gloves, a hand trowel, and some friends. Rain or shine.

24th to 23rd Streets: Saturday, November 22, 9am to 2pm
22nd to 21st Streets: Saturday, December 6, 9am to 2pm
21st to 20th Streets: Saturday, December 13, 9am to 2pm

23rd to 22nd Streets:

Saturday, December 20, 9am to 2pm

Please do join us Thanksgiving weekend and bring some friends.

Best,
Flora and everyone at Flora Grubb Gardens
