A Tillandsia (sometimes called 'Air Plant') is a Bromeliad...but not all Bromeliads are Tillandsias. Bromeliad is the family name. Tillandsia is the genus. There are hundreds of different types - and Xerographica is an extraordinary example. Air plants grow without soil often on the branches of trees. They are tender and don't like cold. Xerographica needs less moisture than other types and requires a light mist of water only twice a month, and does not like to get wet.
